Canada

Canada, world’s second largest country spreading across six time zones is unimaginably vast. Stretching from Atlantic to the pacific and from latitudes of Rome to that of North Pole, offering so many differing tourist spots that even the most jaded cynic would find it hard not to find something that tickles their fancy.

Canada - British Columbia - Yoho National Park - Emerald Lake

Niagara Falls is undoubtedly the greatest waterfall and “wow” is everyone’s first reaction. It’s a fun place where escarpment overlooking the falls has beautiful park with well-manicured gardens, hills along with high-rise hotels, casinos while adjacent streets has museums, souvenir shops, gaming arcades, restaurants and clubs.

For history, art and culture enthusiasts Canada is a heaven. Saint John is the historic core, with beautifully preserved 19th century architecture within ring of rocky bluffs, sheer cliffs, coves and peninsulas surrounding a deep natural harbor. There also is Signal Hill National Historic site and Johnson Geo centre apart from Nova Scotia’s Halifax Citadel, Maritime Museum of Atlantic and Peggy’s Cove. Bascilica of Notre-Dame, Biodome, Pointe-a-Calliere, and Museum of Archaeology & History in Montreal are some of the most prominent attractions. Also Ottawa’s Currency Museum, National Gallery, National Museum of Science and Technology, Quebec’s Citadel and the Museum of Civilization is not to be missed.

New Brunswick is best for outdoors- whale watching around Passamaquoddy Bay and Grand Manan tops the list. Other options include canoe-tripping in inland lakes and rivers, hiking the Appalachian mountain range or cycling from B&B to B&B along quiet country roads. But for less adventurous there is Irving Eco-Centre, “La Dune De Bouctouche”, New Brunswick Museum and Fundy National Park.

A trip to Canada can be planned at any time of year, but most people arrive in summer when temperatures are pleasant and much of the action moves outdoors.
