Born in Lisbon of Angolan parents David Flor has always demonstrated a great talent for music coming from a large a family where ll his 6 brothers are professional musicians from Classical to Gospel and Jazz to take up love for dancing was a question of time starting early at 10 years old at house parties family gatherings and even school parties African music was and has always been part of his education and culture
At 12 years old David took up the Saxophone starting with Gospel later moving on to Jazz contemporary Sing and Funk and slowing moving into to his roots morna, Semba, chorinho cabo verdianos e MPB
At the Age of 18 David aka D Stylus travelled to the UK Cardiff graduating in Sound Engineering at the same time developing a great interest for teaching slowing starting a movement first with organizing PALOP parties adding up the skill of Disk Jokey learning with some of the best local Dj’s going till the point of being nominated twice for the best Welsh Dj in the Styles of RnB and House Music pursuing this skill for almost 10 years in his CV counts gigs along side artists such as G unit, Sisqo, Tyrese, Lemar, Donnel Jones Miss Dynamite and many other international artists…
3 years ago after persistence of local dancers interested in seeing more of this beautiful dance we call Kizomba David Took up the challenge to share his Knowledge doing it for pleasure fun and help of the Kizomba dance community finally taking it professional on his second year David taught over 500 hours of Classes being invited to share his Talent at more then 25 different cities and 8 countries heading as a Dja and Teacher at Festival such as Afro Bailar (Prague), Kizomba festival (Bratislava), Afro Fever (Lisbon) FLAC festival (Bristol) and more.
David has a very unique style “Kizomba Romantica” a soft and gentle interpretation of Kizomba dancing a grounded authentic and connected style.
David also explores other Afro Portuguese dances such as Funana, Semba, Kuduro Coladera passada etc putting his own style into them but staying thue to the musicality culture and heart of its Music.
