Oslo, the Norwegian capital, lies between blue Oslo Fjord and green hills of Oslomarka, giving the city a ‘blue-green’ image. The city is a beautiful amalgamation of old and new architecture, parks, museums, ports, hills, forests and more.

As Oslo is the oldest of the Scandinavian capitals, one can view some beautiful architecture, buildings and monuments like Akershus Castle and Fortress, the Royal Palace, Parliament Building, Stortorget, Aker Church, Town Hall (Radhus), Oslo Cathedral and the National Theater, a neoclassical building.
Oslo presents scores of outdoor activities ranging from playing beach volleyball at Langøyene, Island hopping in Oslofjord to swimming in fjords and lakes in the woods. Go for a forest trip in Sognsvann, Bogstadvannet, Badedammen Grorud, Trollvann, and Steinbruvann or simply go to TusenFryd Amusement Park offering fun and entertainment for all age groups. Enjoy skiing at various spots like Tryvann Vinterpark, Tryvann Skiskole and Toboggan run, Korketrekkeren. Then there are shopping venues, like Aker Brygge, Bazaar Halls, Egertorget and above all Karl Johans Gate and District.
Oslo hosts many events and festivals like the Bislett International Light Athletics Festival, the Contemporary Music Festival, Festival of arts of short duration, Festival of Chamber Music, Oslo Jazz Festival, September Marathon and Sommerkollen.
Oslo has a continental climate – summers are pleasant and winters are very cold and wet with heavy snowfall.
