Spectacular is the word that best describes Austria, a country with startling contrasts, from Alps in the west to Pannonian Plain and Danube Basin in the east. Austria has a moderate continental climate with four distinct seasons, and each season offers a unique experience. During summer, you can enjoy hiking, mountain biking and lake swimming, while winter is the best time for skiing. Majority of music festivals are held between May and October.
