Discover Honduras’ art and culture at various archaeological sites, museums and galleries. There are many such attractions including the Archaeological site of the Mosquitia, El Pequeño Sula (children’s museum), National Art Gallery, and above all Copan Ruinas. The Copan Ruinas boasts of a Museum, Enchanted Wings Butterfly House and Copan Ruins Archeological Site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Copan Ruins archeological site comprises of Acropolis, Ball Court, Hieroglyphic Stairway, Museum of Mayan Sculpture, Plaza of the Stelae, Tunnels, Copán Valley Stelaes, El Puente and Las Sepulturas Archaeological Site.

Honduras offers many outdoor activities. You can relax on the beautiful beaches of Roatan, Tela, Utila, Omoa or take an eco-tour to Guanaja. Appreciate nature at its splendid best at various parks and gardens like the Carambola Gardens, Sandy Bay; Lush Pico Bonito National Park; Cuero y Salado Wildlife Refuge and La Tigra National Park. For adventure lovers there is a variety of options like horseback riding (La Pintada); whale spotting, snorkeling and diving at Utila and hiking a scenic ridge track at Pico Bonito National Park, among others.

Honduras has a wide range of bars, clubs, cafes, pubs and jazz clubs, mainly at Tegucigalpa and Roatan that are bustling with life and open till wee hours of the morning. Markets in San Pedro Sula, La Ceiba, Tegucigalpa, Roatan and other cities provide a variety of things ranging from jewelry, woodcarvings, leather bags, clothes and more.

Honduras lies within the tropics resulting in hot and humid climate, though there are variations depending on the altitude of the place you visit. Dry season is the best time to travel and more precisely the months of February and March, because of the stable weather throughout the country.
