Sweden, third largest country in the Western Europe, is a lovely place to visit. Sweden boasts of many tourist attractions like the beautiful cities, splendid nature, magnificent monuments and more. But the best thing about this country is the warm and friendly nature of the natives.

Discover the rich history, art and culture of Sweden at various historical sites, castles, palaces and museums. Few of popular ones include Alvsborgs fortress, Vasa Museum, Mine Museum (UNESCO World Heritage site) and Kalmar Castle. Among other must see attractions are Lake Malaren region, Drottningholm Castle, Gamla Stan (Old Town), Kungliga Slottet or Royal Palace, Gothenburg’s museums, Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde andGammelstad Church Village (part of World Heritage List).

Explore the beautiful nature of Sweden by visiting Gotland and Oland for their scenic beauty or by taking a stroll along Djurgarden’s Waterway 2, or Lake Siljan. You can also visit the national parks at Abisko, Gotska Sandon, Stenhuvud, Tyresta and Laponia (UNESCO World Heritage Site).

For fun and adventure you can head straight to the beaches of Langholmsbadet, Smedsuddsbadet, Sudersand, Boda or Skane. Here you can enjoy swimming, water sports, camping and more or simply relax on these beaches. But if you are not a beach person then you can go for hiking and trekking at Kungsleden, Abisko, Bergslagen, Gotland Island, Laponia and Sarek. During winters you can enjoy skiing, dog sledding, and a ride on the snowmobile or simply go to The Icehotel, for a unique experience.

Other tourist attractions in Sweden include ‘Kingdom of Crystal’, Glasriket, Operan, the Royal Swedish Opera, Skeppsholmen Island and  Liseberg Park, Sweden’s oldest and largest theme park.

Sweden has cool temperate climate and weather is dependent on latitude- northern quarters are colder. The best time to visit is during the warmer months of May to September.
