Rome has got a very extensive history. The brothers Romulus and Remus
decided to build a city. After a discussion, Romulus killed his brother Remus.
Romulus founded the city by himself and it was ruled about 250 years by a
monarchical system. The leaders where called “Imperators”.
Already 100 BC Rome had a running supply of fresh water as well as a waste
water system which was really ground-breaking these times. In addition to that
there was an elaborated infrastructure.
Since Pippin, which was the father of “Karl the Great”, Rome became to a capital
of the “papal states” and also the most important pilgrimage site of Christianity.
